Mencap Cymru – Easy Read State of the Nation Report

We were pleased to work with Mencap Cymru to create an Easy Read version of their State of the Nation Report 2025.

This report shares what life is like for people with a learning disability in Wales, based on people’s real experiences.

It is based on a survey of 427 people, with 236 responses used in the findings, collected online, in person, and in English and Welsh.

The report highlights some of the main issues people face, including feeling excluded from their communities, limited choice about where to live, difficulties getting health checks, transport barriers, and challenges around relationships and daily life.

By making the report Easy Read, we helped more people understand the findings and what they mean.

This is the first in a series of reports over the next three years, with a further report planned before the 2026 Senedd Election.

We also made a Welsh Easy Read version of the report. Both versions are digitally accessible for screen readers and assistive technology.
